Raising his record to 3-0 with his first complete game of the season, Paul Splittorff scattered six hits in hurling the Royals to a 3-2 triumph over the Orioles. The Royals scored the winning run in the seventh inning when John Wathan drilled a one-out triple and crossed the plate on a single by Jamie Quirk, filling in at third base for George Brett, who was sidelined with a bruised heel.
