Rallying for two runs in the bottom of the 12th inning, the Astros edged the Mets, 4-3, After a sacrifice fly by Jerry Morales gave the Mets a 3-2 lead in the top of the 12th, Cesar Cedeno drew a one-out walk and reached third on a double by Alan Ashby. Pinch-hitter Art Howe received an intentional walk, but Jeff Leonard spoiled the strategy by lashing a single off the right-center fence to plate Cedeno and Ashby and end the game.
