J.R. Richard hit one of the Astros' three homers and gained his fourth straight victory with a 5-1 decision over the Reds. The fireballer developed stiffness in his shoulder in the eighth and Dave Smith finished the game. Cesar Cedeno and Richard homered in the fifth inning and Joe Morgan in the sixth, accounting for three of five hits off Tom Seaver before the Reds' starter left the mound. [The Sporting News]
