After losing their first six games against the A's this season, the Angels bounced back to gain a 2-1 victory in a duel between Don Aase and Matt Keough. Aase gave up four singles and a only run against him was unearned. Tom Donohue, filling in for an injured Brian Downing, was the Angels' key batter with two of their five hits off Keough.

 In the third inning, Larry Harlow singled, stopped at third on a double by Donohue and scored on a sacrifice fly by Rick Miller. After the A's tied the score in the fifth, the Angels racked up their winning run in the seventh when Freddie Patek tripled and Donohue sent him home with a single. [The Sporting News]
