Two stolen bases by Rodney Scott led to a run on a single by Ellis Valentine in the ninth inning as the Expos defeated the Giants, 4-3, to snap a four-game losing streak. The Expos scored their initial three runs in the eighth on homers by Andre Dawson and Valentine, but the Giants tied the score in the ninth with a two-run double by pinch-hitter Milt May.

In the Expos' half, Scott led off with a pinch-single and pilfered both second and third. With one away, the Giants passed Tony Bernazard and Dawson intentionally, hoping to set up a double play, but Valentine spoiled the strategy with his single. [The Sporting News]
