With batting support from Eric Soderholm and Graig Nettles, Tommy John gained credit for his fourth straight victory and seventh in a row over two seasons as the Yankees defeated the Twins, 7-3. Soderholm homered with a man on base in the second inning. Nettles hit singles in the fourth, sixth and eighth, driving in a run on each occasion.
