After giving up four unearned runs in the first inning, the Phillies came back to down the Braves, 10-5. Pete Rose doubled and scored on a double by Bake McBride to make it 4-1 in the first and then doubled to start a third-inning rally.

Mike Schmidt doubled in Rose and scored on a single by Greg Luzinski. A two-bagger by Greg Gross plated Luzinski and a single by Larry Bowa put the Phillies ahead, 5-4. The Phillies registered four runs in the eighth on a bases-loaded triple by Schmidt and a thowing error. [The Sporting News]
