Champ Summers, the league's leading hitter, had three hits and drove in two runs to spark the Tigers to a 9-5 decision over the Mariners. Summers, batting .409, extended his hitting streak to 16 games with a run-scoring single during a three-run first inning. He doubled home another run during a four-run seventh. Jason Thompson drove in three runs with a pair of two-baggers.
