. . . where the 1970s live forever!

A two-run pinch-homer by Roy Howell in the seventh inning lifted the Blue Jays past the Angels, 3-2, for their fourth straight victory. Howell's blast came after a two-out single by Damaso Garcia and erased a 2-1 Angel lead.

The Angels came back to load the bases in the eighth with one out, but reliever Joey McLaughlin got Don Baylor to ground into an inning-ending double play. McLaughlin had to be bailed out of a two-out, bases-loaded jam in the ninth by Jerry Garvin, who retired Rick Miller on a fly. [The Sporting News]
