Late-inning heroics enabled the Mariners to edge the Tigers, 7-6. A homer by Jim Anderson in the ninth inning produced a 6-6 tie and the Mariners then won in the 10th. Tom Paciorek walked and was replaced by pinch-runner Rodney Craig, who moved to second on a sacrifice by Ted Cox. Larry Milbourne was passed intentionally and one out later Joe Simpson delivered a ground single to right to score Craig. [The Sporting News] |
