A single by Jerry Morales in the 10th inning drove home the winning run as the Mets outlasted the Reds, 7-6. John Stearns opened the 10th with a double and two outs later Morales lined a single to left for the game-winner.

The Reds had tied the contest with four runs in the ninth. Dan Driessen doubled and scored on a single by Ray Knight. After Junior Kennedy walked, Harry Spilman hit a three-run pinch-homer. [The Sporting News]
