. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Gary Roenicke hit into a double play and stole home in the same inning in the course of the Orioles' 4-1 victory over the Indians. After the Birds took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on an RBI single by Al Bumbry, they added a pair of runs in a n unusual fifth-inning sequence.

Bumbry opened with a walk and moved to second on a bunt single by Rick Dempsey. Roenicke then hit a grounder to third baseman Toby Harrah, forcing Bumbry, and Harrah's throw to second forced Dempsey. A single by Eddie Murray sent Roenicke to third and the runners then executed a double steal. Murray then scored on a single by Lee May. [The Sporting News]
