A pinch-double by Todd Cruz drove home the winning run as the Angels edged the Rangers, 3-2, in 13 innings. The game was tied, 2-2, when Rod Carew opened the California 13th with a double and moved to third on a sacrifice by Dan Ford.

Dave Rajsich then replaced Jim Kern on the hill for the Rangers and Cruz, batting for Rick Miller, lined a double down the left field line to chase Carew home. A two-run homer by Bobby Grich in the seventh inning had tied the game. [The Sporting News]
