In a game shortened by rain to seven innings, the Angels edged the Rangers, 5-4. The Angels scored twice in the second inning on an RBI double by Joe Rudi and run-scoring single by Ralph Garr. Bobby Grich clouted a two-run homer in the sixth and singles by Ralph Garr, Todd Cruz and Tom Donohue delivered another run later in the same frame. Richie Zisk clouted a three-run homer for the Rangers in the seventh off reliever Dave LaRoche, who then retired the side as rain came to halt play. [The Sporting News]
