. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Buddy Bell hit two homers and pitchers Jon Matlack and Danny Darwin combined on a club record 15 strikeouts as the Rangers defeated the Angels, 12-6. The Rangers were behind, 6-4, when they sent 11 men to the plate in the fourth inning and scored six runs.

Jim Sundberg started the outburst with a double and tallied on a single by Mickey Rivers. Bump Wills then delivered a two-run homer. Al Oliver followed with a single and, after starter Don Aase was relieved by Jim Barr, Bell drilled a two-run round-tripper to climax the rally. Bell's second homer was a bases-empty shot in the seventh. [The Sporting News]
