Bill Travers yielded only four hits and pitched the Brewers to a 5-0 victory over the Twins. Robin Yount backed Travers with a two-run homer and Ben Oglivie contributed two more runs with a sacrifice fly and circuit clout.

Ken Landreaux killed off the Twins' best scoring opportunity by grounding into a double play with the bases loaded in the sixth inning but then extended his batting streak to 24 games with a useless single in the ninth. [The Sporting News]
