While Larry Gura pitched a five-hitter, George Brett smashed two doubles and a homer to lead the Royals' batting in a 7-3 victory over the Angels. Brett batted in one run with a double in the sixth inning and scored another as the Royals took a 3-1 lead. Then in the seventh, Frank White knocked in two runs with a single and Brett followed with a two-run homer. Joe Rudi homered for the Angels.
