Ken Griffey, George Foster and Dan Driessen hit consecutive homers in the third inning to lift the Reds to a 6-1 victory over the Dodgers. Griffey's blast followed walks to Dave Collins and Dave Concepcion.

Foster followed with his seventh round-tripper and Driessen his fourth to cap the five-run inning. It was the 42nd time in major league history that three players had consecutive homers.
