Otten issued three walks to fill the bases and was replaced by Mark Littell, who gave up a two-run single to John Stearns and walked Steve Henderson. After George Frazier relieved, Eliiott Maddox doubled to clear the bases and tie the score. Jose Moreno followed with a single for his first major league hit to produce the decisive tally.
