The Tigers smashed five homers, including two by Richie Hebner, and trounced the Angels, 12-1. Hebner hit his first homer of the game in the fourth inning and, after a single by Kirk Gibson, Stan Papi also connected for the circuit in his first game with the Tigers after being acquired from Oklahoma City (American Association).
