Hitting to the opposite field, Dave Kingman singled to right in the seventh inning, advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Scot Thompson, giving the Cubs a 5-4 victory over the Phillies. Kingman homered in the fifth and Larry Biittner, pinch-hitting, hit another for the Cubs with a man on base in the sixth.
