With two out in the 11th inning, John Mayberry capped the Blue Jays' comeback with a drive off the right field fence that sent Alfredo Griffin strolling home with the winning run in a 7-6 triumph over the Angels. Trailing, 6-0, the Jays scored once in the third and added three more runs in the fourth on a two-run double by Rick Bosetti and sacrifice fly by Damaso Garcia.

The game was sent into extra innings when Roy Howell singled home a run in the ninth and then counted himself on a double by Otto Velez. Griffin led off the 11th with a single, advanced to second on a sacrifice and to third on a fly by Howell. Dave LaRoche then purposely passed Velez to get to lefthander Mayberry, but the strategy backfired. [The Sporting News]
