. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Pinch-hitting, Clint Hurdle lashed a two-out single over the head of New York right fielder Dennis Werth to score Pete LaCock and give the Royals a 6-5 victory over the Yankees in 10 innings. LaCock opened the inning with a single, advanced to second on a bunt by U.L. Washington and to third on a groundout by Willie Wilson. George Brett had three hits, including a two-run homer, and scored three times. Dan Quisenberry chalked up his fourth victory with 2 2/3 scoreless innings in relief of Larry Gura.
