Lonnie Smith had a single, double and triple, scored twice and drove in two runs to help Bob Walk post his first major league victory and lead the Phillies to a 6-5 rain delayed triumph over the Cubs. Smith singled in the first inning and scored on a double by Pete Rose. After a 37-minute rain delay, Greg Luzinski and Larry Bowa also doubled in runs in the initial inning. [The Sporting News]
