Ron Hodges grounded a bases-loaded, one-out single through a drawn-in infield to score John Stearns, capping a two-run rally and giving the Mets a 6-5 decision over the Pirates. With one out in the 11th, Alex Trevino singled and Stearns walked against losing pitcher Grant Jackson.

Bert Blyleven, who started and lost Friday's game, came on and was greeted by Joel Youngblood's ground-rule double, tying the game, 5-5.
