Lynn McGlothen scattered six hits in eight innings and scored the decisive run of the Cubs' 2-0 triumph over the Phillies. Bruce Sutter loaded the bases in the ninth before recording his 12th save. McGlothen sliced a double to left-center with one out in the third and scored after a single by Ivan DeJesus and double by Mike Tyson. The Cubs' other run came in the seventh on a single by Tim Blackwell, a sacrifice and single by DeJesus. [The Sporting News]
