Al Oliver homered and delivered a pair of singles to back the five-hit pitching of Fergie Jenkins as the Rangers snapped a five-game losing streak with a 3-1 triumph over the Brewers. Oliver belted a round-tripper in the fourth inning after Robin Yount had given the Brewers a 1-0 lead in the third with a homer.

The Rangers scored the go-ahead runs in the eighth. Mickey Rivers singled, Bump Wills walked and Oliver singled to plate Rivers. A sacrifice fly by Rusty Staub ended the scoring. [The Sporting News]
