Mike Jorgensen hit a grand slam in the 10th inning to lift the Mets to a 6-2 triumph over the Dodgers. The score was 2-2 when Doug Flynn stroked a single and stole second as pinch-hitter Claudell Washington struck out.

After Lee Mazzilli was intentionally walked, Steve Henderson drew a base on balls to load the bases. Jorgensen then lashed a 2-2 pitch to deep right. A solo homer by Steve Garvey enabled the Dodgers to tie the game in the top of the ninth. [The Sporting News]
