Pinch-hitter Bobby Murcer singled home two runs in the 11th inning to lift the Yankees to a 9-7 victory over the Angels. With the score tied, 7-7, Willie Randolph drew a walk and stole second. After Joe Lefebvre received an intentional walk, the bases became loaded when Angels third baseman Dickie Thon erred on a grounder by Bob Watson. Murcer then singled to right.
