Recording his fifth complete game of the season, Frank Pastore scattered seven hits in pitching the Reds to a 3-2 victory over the Pirates. After a solo homer by Johnny Bench had produced a 2-2 tie in the fourth inning, the Reds registered the decisive tally in the fifth when Dave Concepcion walked, Ken Griffey singled and George Foster hit a single up the middle to plate Concepcion.
