J.R. Richard and Joaquin Andujar combined on a three-hitter as the Astros enjoyed a 7-1 romp over the Cubs. Richard, who left after five innings because he said he was not getting good speed on his pitches, had his consecutive scoreless inning streak snapped at 21 in the first frame when doubles by Ivan DeJesus and Bill Buckner resulted in Chicago's run. The Astros scored three times in the first inning on a two-run double by Enos Cabell and RBI single by Alan Ashby. Jose Cruz belted a three-run homer in the second. [The Sporting News]
