. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Allowing only one runner to get past first base, Ron Guidry pitched a six-hitter for the Yankees in a 5-0 whitewashing of the Angels. The Yanks scored twice in the first inning on a single by Bobby Murcer, walk to Graig Nettles, RBI single by Reggie Jackson and sacrifice fly by Jim Spencer. Bobby Brown clouted a solo homer in the fourth and Nettles slammed a two-run round-tripper in the fifth. [The Sporting News]
