. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The Blue Jays won a doubleheader from the White Sox, 5-4 and 3-1. In the curtain raiser, the Jays were behind, 4-3, when Bob Davis led off the Toronto seventh inning with a single and, after a sacrifice, Rick Bosetti clubbed a two-run homer.

The Jays opened a 2-0 first-inning lead in the second game. Alfredo Griffin singled and after two wild pitches, a walk to Roy Howell and a short wild pitch moving Howell to second, John Mayberry and Otto Velez rapped consecutive RBI singles. Mayberry's blow extended his hitting streak to a club record 17 games. Ernie Whitt blasted a solo homer in the second inning. [The Sporting News]
