Nolan Ryan and Joe Sambito combined on a one-hitter to lead Houston to a club-record 12th straight home victory as the Astros beat the Cardinals, 2-0. The only Redbird hit was a bloop double by Garry Templeton in the third inning. The Astros scored in the first on a triple by Rafael Landestoy and sacrifice fly by Jose Cruz.
