Freddie Patek hit three homers and a double, drove in seven runs and set a California club record for total bases with 14 as the Angels smashed their nine-game losing streak with a 20-2 thrashing of the Red Sox. Patek drove in a run with a double in the second, homered with two aboard in the third, added a solo swat in the fifth and connected with a man on base in the eighth.
