A throwing error by Dodger pitcher Joe Beckwith enabled the winning run to score as the Astros triumphed, 5-4, in 12 innings. Cesar Cedeno opened the stanza with a double. After Art Howe was intentionally walked, Craig Reynolds bunted down the third base line. Beckwith fielded the ball but threw wildly attempting to get a forceout at third base and Cedeno raced home with the winning run.
