. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Taking advantage of two errors, the Red Sox pushed across a run in the 10th inning to edge the Yankees, 4-3. With one out and the game tied, 3-3, Gary Allenson hit a grounder that went through third baseman Graig Nettles' legs into left field, where the ball was bobbled by Dennis Werth.

Allenson reached second on the double error, advanced to third on a groundout and scored on a double by Dave Stapleton. Tom Burgmeier, who pitched the last 4 2/3 innings and struck out eight batters, gained the victory. [The Sporting News]
