. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Despite pitching in temperatures that were over the 100-degree mark, Fergie Jenkins went the distance as the Rangers defeated the Mariners, 6-1. The Rangers scored twice in their first turn at bat on a single by Mickey Rivers, a sacrifice, double by Buddy Bell and single by Rusty Staub. Richie Zisk delivered two tallies with a sixth-inning single and another in the eighth with a single that followed an RBI triple by Bell. [The Sporting News]
