Run-scoring singles by John Stearns and Joel Youngblood in the seventh inning lifted the Mets to a 4-3 triumph over the Cubs. The Mets trailed, 3-2, when Lee Mazzilli began the seventh with a bunt single, moved to second on a one-out walk to Claudell Washington and scored on a single by Youngblood.
