Rob Wilfong collected four hits in pacing the Twins to a 5-3 triumph over the Rangers for Gene Mauch's 1,500th career victory as manager. The Twins scored twice in the first inning on an RBI groundout by Roy Smalley and run-scoring double by Ken Landreaux. Wilfong singled and scored in the fourth and drilled an RBI single in the fifth.
