. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Rookie Leon Durham collected three hits, including his first major league homer, and scored three runs to lead the Cardinals to a 9-7 victory over the Cubs. Durham's round-tripper was a two-run shot in the fourth inning and put the Redbirds ahead to stay, 5-4. The Cards put the game out of reach with a three-run sixth, two runs coming when Cubs left fielder Dave Kingman dropped a two-out fly ball. [The Sporting News]
