Pitching the first six innings in his major league debut, Bill Bordley received credit for the victory as the Giants defeated the Reds, 8-4. A three-run homer by Milt May put the Giants in the lead in the first frame and Jack Clark added a two-run round-tripper to boost the margin to 5-0 in the third as the Giants sent Tom Seaver down to another defeat.
