. . . where the 1970s live forever!

A bases-loaded single by Bruce Bochte in the ninth inning drove in two runs and lifted the Mariners to a 6-5 triumph over the Rangers. The Mariners were behind, 5-4, in the ninth when Bob Stinson drew a one-out walk.

Julio Cruz followed with a single. Jim Kern was replaced on the mound by Danny Darwin, who walked Juan Beniquez to load the bases and was promptly derricked in favor of Sparky Lyle. The new reliever was greeted by Bochte's blow. [The Sporting News]
