Steve Stone gained his 10th consecutive victory and 12th of the season when the Orioles defeated the Red Sox, 10-3. Stone was lifted with a 7-3 lead after loading the bases with two out in the seventh inning. Tim Stoddard relieved, retired Carlton Fisk on a pop fly and finished to earn his 11th save.
