Tony Armas hit a two-run homer and Wayne Gross added two runs with a single and double, leading the A's to a 6-2 victory over the Angels. The relief pitching of Jeff Jones saved the game for the A's. Jones replaced Brian Kingman with the bases loaded and one out in the eighth inning and ended the Angels' threat by striking out both Joe Rudi and Bobby Grich. [The Sporting News]
