The Astros swept a doubleheader from the Braves, winning the first game, 6-5, and capturing the nightcap, 6-1. In the opener, the Astros trailed, 5-4, going into the eighth inning but tied the score on a leadoff homer by Cesar Cedeno. With two out, Craig Reynolds doubled, pinch-hitter Bruce Bochy walked and Terry Puhl hit an infield single to load the bases. Joe Morgan then hit a bouncer over the mound that second baseman Glenn Hubbard was unable to handle and Reynolds scored the deciding run on the hit.

Puhl and Denny Walling collected three hits and two RBIs apiece to pace the Astros in the second game. [The Sporting News]
