The Rangers blasted off for four runs in the first inning and routed the Indians. 12-2, behind the five-hit hurling of Doc Medich. Bump Wills led off with a single and Buddy Bell was safe on an error by second baseman Jack Brohamer.

After a single by Al Oliver scored Wills, Richie Zisk clouted a three-run homer. Bell, going 3-for-4 to raise his major league-leading average to .347, extended his hitting streak to 17 games. [The Sporting News]
