Scoring two runs in the 15th inning, the Padres edged the Dodgers, 4-3. Dave Cash, whose error had allowed the Dodgers to take a 3-2 lead in the top of the 15th, began the bottom of the frame with a line drive to right which Joe Ferguson fumbled, allowing Cash to reach second. One out later, a single by Gene Richards plated Cash. Richards then stole second and scored the winning run on a single by Ozzie Smith. [The Sporting News]
