After the Mariners took a 6-5 lead in the top of 13th on a run-scoring double by Dan Meyer, Ron Jackson led off the bottom of the frame with a triple and counted on a single by Pete Mackanin.

Hosken Powell forced Mackanin at second, but Rob Wilfong and Ken Landreaux walked to load the sacks. Jose Morales then hit a grounder to shortstop Larry Milbourne, who threw to second baseman Julio Cruz for a forceout. Cruz relayed the ball to Joe Simpson in time to get Morales, but the first baseman dropped the throw and Powell tallied the winning run. [The Sporting News]
