A homer by Dave Roberts with two men on base climaxed a five-run fourth inning that propelled the Rangers to an 11-3 drubbing of the White Sox. Al Oliver began the outburst with a one-out single. After Buddy Bell walked, Richie Zisk singled home the first run of the frame.

Rusty Staub then singled home another tally and Roberts followed with a liner into the left field seats. Texas scored five more times in the fifth, one run coming on a single by Staub, who had a 4-for-4 night. [The Sporting News]
